Information for potential authors: Frequently asked questions
What should I write about? Browse our previous newsletters - this will give you an idea of the style of writing and the issues covered.
When should I submit my article? Check with coordinator for deadlines for the next newsletter.
How much should I write? 700 words for a one page article; 600 words for a one page article with a small photo.
How should I present the article? In any format - typed or hand-written, on audio tape, in your home language!
Do I need to provide personal details? Write a short paragraph about yourself, who you work for, what your position is, your full name and contact details.
What writing style should I use? Use short, easy-to-read sentences, avoid a complex, academic style of writing.
Will I get any help with writing? Yes, we are happy to co-write the articles - we will send feedback and help you construct the article if you are unsure.
Can I send photographs? Yes, send original hard copies by post, or email digital photos - high resolution please! And label the photos - who, what, when, where they were taken?
Will my article be published? We are not able to publish everything in the newsletter, so sometimes we put articles on the website instead.
