EENET CIC - EENET's consultancy business
In 2009 EENET registered a community interest company (EENET CIC) in England. This allows us to run a social enterprise business, primarily selling education consultancy services. Any profits are re-invested into EENET's information-sharing activities.
What consultancy services does EENET CIC offer?
EENET CIC and its associated consultants carry out a range of education-related work, with a particular focus on quality, learner-friendly, inclusive education. We do:
- research and writing
- evaluations
- designing/running training courses or workshops
- facilitating small seminars or larger events
- organising and facilitating study tours
- project management
- technical advice
- document editing
- film-making.
Email EENET CIC for details and examples of our work in these areas. We will upload links to some examples soon.
Who are the EENET CIC-associated consultants?
EENET CIC has a small and constantly growing pool of consultants who have chosen to work in conjunction with EENET CIC. They have a wide range of experiences, skills and qualifications, covering numerous inclusion areas such as: early childhood development, refugees and internally displaced people, disability, gender, child marriage, teacher education, parental involvement, etc. They have worked as teachers in various countries, as advisers, managers and technical staff for national and international non-governmental organisations, and as academics.
Email EENET CIC for information about becoming an associated consultant.
Benefits of using EENET CIC
EENET CIC's consultancy business offers benefits for the client, consultant and the wider EENET network.
Benefits for the client
- EENET CIC oversees the consultants' work, offering clients a higher level of reassurance.
- EENET CIC manages financial and logistical arrangements for the consultant, leaving them with more time and energy to devote to the project.
- Clients get easy access to EENET's materials for use during and after their project.
Benefits for the consultant
- Consultants receive support from EENET CIC's director and other consultants. This helps them to work more effectively and with more confidence than if they were working in isolation (as many consultants do).
Benefits for EENET and EENET CIC
- Consultants donate a small percentage of their fee to EENET CIC. In turn, EENET CIC donates these profits (in line with CIC regulations) to EENET to enable its important networking and information sharing activities to continue.
- Clients can join the wider EENET network and can publish their experiences on our website and in our newsletter. This enables EENET to offer its readers an even greater range of ideas for making education more inclusive.
Who runs EENET CIC?
The directors are:
- Ingrid Lewis (who is also EENET Co-ordinator)
- Dr Susie Miles (former EENET Co-ordinator and now lecturer in Inclusive Education at the University of Manchester)
- Sue Stubbs (co-founder of EENET).
The day-to-day management of EENET CIC is handled by Ingrid Lewis.
